Spring is one of my favourite fashion seasons. It’s when we say goodbye to the dark winter tones and refresh our closets with floral pastel shades. Two of my favourite brands Chloé and Zimmermann really nail the Spring vibe with all their floaty floral numbers. However let’s face it – in British climates braving bare legs isn’t something I tend to do until mid summer. So tights are a perfect way to wear floaty dresses and cute skirts without freezing.
Falke is a German brand that make high quality thermals and can be found in big department stores like Selfridges and Harrods in the UK. They also have a discounted store in the heart of Bicester Village where I like to go and stock up on my thermals. I like to invest in tights as I find cheap ones don’t last very long and I always end up spending twice the amount!
I wanted to share with you how easy it is to style tights for Spring. I feel like winter thermals are standard to style so I wanted to challenge myself to see what I could come up with.
For the first look I got my hands on some white stockings – I just loved the patterned detailing at the top. To be honest these are probably most like my natural skin colour! They’re a great alternative to tan tights and I think they have a quirky sixties feel about them. The tights help bring out the white in the shoes pulling the whole look together. The wooden bag and pale tights are two great items to freshen up a look for Spring.
For the second look I chose a shirt dress paired with some lace shorts. My fashion addiction definitely comes from my love of fabrics so pairing such contrasting materials together really excites me. If you watch my YouTube channel you will know how excited I get about clothes! I think with ‘mini’ length clothes you have to be careful with tan tights – for me it sometimes echoes my primary school disco attire.
So stocking are a fab way to make this look a lot more sultry. This look is definitely for the woman that’s not afraid to bare a leg – but you know what they say if you got it flaunt it! I love how the lace shorts fall on the lace of the stockings, it’s so unusual and I just love that in clothes.
BLACK MINI TOTE BAG
Okay let’s face it we still have some serious Arctic weather conditions in England so sometimes we have to whack out the woolies. I feel like black woolly tights in Spring are just not appropriate so lighter shades are a great alternative.
Here I’ve picked a gorgeous bronze colour to really accentuate the embroidery in the dress. This was a bit of a wild card and not my usual style but I always like to try new things. Even with a Chloé vibe floaty floral maxi this kind of tight would work well paired with a boot.
For me I will always go fishnet when it comes to a tan tight, I just thing they’re a whole lot sexier. I think it comes from my dancing days when I really fell in love with a netted tight – they’re a whole lot harder to ladder too.
This look is the perfect office attire and adding a pair of tights means you don’t have to worry about luminous white pale legs on a Monday morning (in my case anyway).
When browsing the site I found some gems that would work perfectly for Spring. In particular the Lavender Diamond Net Tights would look so beautiful with the right dress. Another favourite was Matt Delux Tights – such a staple tight that can inject so much fun and colour into an outfit.
