GIRLBOSS GENERATION

GIRLBOSS GENERATION

– BY OURSELVES, FOR OURSELVES – Welcome to generation Girlboss. For the first time in history as we know it, we stand alone able to do everything by ourselves, for ourselves. Well, everything except conceive so maybe we’ll keep the men around a little while longer. The past few weeks I’ve been blessed to attend some wonderful blogger events and aside from the beautiful atmosphere one thing never fails to impress me – being surrounded by girls standing on their own two feet and basically killing it at life. I reiterate – absolutely KILLING IT! I always laugh when people…

LIFE LESSONS

LIFE LESSONS

– FROM A WOMAN WHO HASN’T GOT A CLUE – Did you know last night I cried myself to sleep? Today I cried hysterically from laughter. I’m a girl, that’s what we do. Sometimes, my friends that don’t fail to have me in fits of giggles are the ones that suffer from depression. What you see on the outside doesn’t always match what’s going on inside. It’s quite easy in this day and age to look at someone’s life through, in particular, a rose-tinted Instagram and feel that they have it all, small dog, hot hubby, marble staircase and all.…

SPRING BREAK

SPRING BREAK

– DAYWEAR AT DEBENHAMS – A ‘shopping day’ – a rare excursion where I tear myself away from my online shopping addiction. My immediate venture leads me straight to a department store – the ultimate female playground – Debenhams being one of my favourites. LIKE A KID IN A CANDY STORE I COULD SPEND HOURS BROWSING THE NEW-IN MAKEUP ON THE GROUND FLOOR THEN FINISHING OFF IN THE SHOE DEPARTMENT. THE SMART CASUAL So I’ve teamed up with Debenhams to show you exactly how I’m planning on tackling Spring/Summer dressing this years. When it comes to daywear I go one of two…

LADY IN WHITE

LADY IN WHITE

– A HORROR STORY – We all know the 80’s horror movie ‘lady in white’ all too well and as I walk down the street in a crisp white outfit I can assure my victims are horrified. Each woman gives me a knowing glance – the danger, the empathy, flashes across their faces as they wonder how long it will remain, well, white. We all shy away from a world of white when it comes to casual attire for a number of obvious reasons. I advanced out with a shield of white armour knowing I was about to head into…

THE INDUSTRY

THE INDUSTRY

– WHAT I’VE LEARNT SO FAR – Two years ago I was in my final year of university – a ‘mature’ student obviously. I was a bit late to the game when figuring out what I wanted to do in life. It was right about now actually that I could just about see the finish line in April 2015. Everybody had jobs lined up and knew where they wanted to go and what they wanted to do but I still hadn’t got a clue. I had a CV of journalism, PR, styling and design internships under my belt, years of…

LAST NIGHT IN PARIS

LAST NIGHT IN PARIS

 – SHOPS & CHAMPAGNE – My final night in Paris was spent at the Hôtel Etoile Saint Honoré by HappyCulture perfectly located at the west end of the Champs Elysees and a five minute walk from all the shops. Of course I had to wander along down my favourite road in Paris – Avenue Montaigne – scattered with the world’s most influential designer flagship stores. It’s worth having a look just for the eccentric and magnificent window displays and a browse the latest ‘IT’ bags of the moment. I’d done my fair bit of sightseeing so when the porter escorted…

PARIS DIARIES

PARIS DIARIES

– THE HEART OF PARIS – Nestled away in the heart of Paris Hôtel Thérèse is simply beautiful. Next door to Palais Royal and moments from the Louvre it was perfect to catch all the top tourist attractions at sunrise before the streets of Paris became busy. The room felt like an apartment of my own with a walk in wardrobe, lounge area, desk space, bathroom and of course a luxurious bed that I could have stayed in forever. With all the hotels I’ve stayed in these past few weeks I’ve become quite the bed connoisseur and I can safely…

CITY VIEWS

CITY VIEWS

– HOTEL TRIANON RIVE GAUCHE – “There are only two places in the world where we can live happy – at home and in Paris.” ~ Ernest Hemingway I suppose Ernest was on to something here as heading to Paris twice in one month definitely blew away the cobwebs of any past woes. They say time is a healer but actually so is Paris and a few cocktails. I usually think travelling is stressful but in actual fact it’s quicker and cheaper for me to get to Paris than to London. So who wants to join me for cocktails in Paris next…

OH SO CHANEL

OH SO CHANEL

– MULTI-COLOURED TWEED – A couple of years ago the word tweed would have made me run a mile in the opposite direction. Now, I hear tweed and think Chanel, classic and oh so designer-esque. Tweed made a comeback in a big way and obviously I started to pick up tweed in every single form and colour in true shopaholic style. Let’s face it an ‘oversized sparkly tweed dress’ doesn’t sound too great on paper. However bring those words to life and somehow this dress has me feeling all gooey inside, it’s literally my idea of fashion candy. AS ALWAYS…

LITTLE GREY DRESS

LITTLE GREY DRESS

– TASSELS ARE A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND – We all know the LBD is a fail safe – that little dress at the back of your wardrobe, approximately five years old, clinging on to the hanger for safety reasons only. When in doubt go LBD right? It’s time to introduce the LGD – the little grey dress – tassels and all. Perfect not only for it’s shimmying reasons but the two in one multi-tasking combo acts as a jumper and a dress alone – how talented. We all talk about investment pieces but surely a multitasking dress is the true…
