Okay, okay, I know it’s been a while, but hopefully you should be reading this on my brand new blog! Yes welcome to my new home and it probably explains my little absence for a little while. A blog overhaul was long overdue as I’d never actually invested any money into the design before (except for the domain). I’ve been blogging full time now since March and I thought it was about time I blogged in a place I was happy with and hopefully you’ll be happy here too.
It would be wrong of me to blame the whole blog absence on the re-design but realistically if you follow me on all my other platforms you will have noticed I haven’t been in the country much over the past two months. Sounds glamorous right? Some parts yes, most parts definitely not. I feel like a broken woman and it dawned on me why so many bloggers and youtubers have a team of people around them to help.
It’s been multi-tasking at it’s finest. After six months of blogging full time I thought I would have got into the swing of things, writing lists, fitting in morning yoga and scheduling all my meetings together in one day down in London. Nope – I’m still in mode ‘chaotic mess’. My brain works in the same way my bedroom looks, a disaster zone but I know exactly where everything is.
So let’s do a quick round up of LFW! I flew straight back from Los Angeles into day one of London Fashion Week and right up to the day before I was planning on attending as I thought I for sure wouldn’t be able to pull it off. I need the beauty sleep to slow down the wrinkles before I bag myself a husband. I get severe ‘FOMO’ and of course I was there for every single day as per usual.
I love fashion month, I know a lot of bloggers have a love hate relationship with it and I totally get it! It’s exhausting, the crowd and running to all the shows and after you’ve done it once it loses the wow factor in the sense of the experience not the clothes.
If I’m being very honest there are also so many collaborations with brands round fashion week that it’s sometimes hard to attend the shows as well as edit everything. I, like a crazy woman scheduled in no sleep and dived in head first!
My favourite thing was definitely bumping into so many of you! I guess LFW pulls a lot of like minded people together so it was great to see so many of you in one place. I’d love to do a meet-up one day and spend sometime with all of you. When I first started blogging and YouTube I always thought my audience would be young but it impresses me when I meet you you’re all such amazing mature women (shout out to the 1% males).
You may have noticed I love experimenting with my style and trying new things, I guess it leads back from my school days were I was heavy on the old art and textiles classes. This probably explains my love for fashion week as I’m a bit obsessed with the design aspect of clothes. I remember back during my A-level Art class when everyone was painting pictures of people and fruit my art teacher kept asking me why I was making 3D dresses out of paper.
So I’m a major geek at fashion week and love seeing all the new designers and the graduate shows, for me it’s not just about the names everybody knows. I actually wore a new designer Boo Pala to her show and it was the most fabulous outfit ever – definitely not one for everyday but I love pushing the boundaries on those occasions where anything is acceptable.
To roundup fashion week I attended a breakfast with Maybelline, which was the most incredible way to finish the week. It was help at the BFS Showspace and for those of you that don’t know what the British Fashion Council is let’s just compare it to the Ministry of Magic but in fashion terms. I was so honoured to be their guest! I like to pin memorable steps in my blogging career on my wall to inspire me and my pass quoting ‘Guest of British Fashion Council’ is definitely one of them.
There is so much stuff coming and I literally want to tell you but I can’t! Let’s just say the next couple of months are going to get very exciting and you will be able to see everything but I can’t tell you when or where! In the meantime I hope you like my new blog and stick around for some more stuff to come!
