Party season is upon us and with that comes the overhanging question of what to wear to the office party! This blog post is about desk to dinner and how to switch up your look for those last days at work or the dance floor.
One of the most asked questions on my YouTube channel is always how tall I am. Most people think I’m tall and shocked when I say I’m 5ft 4. Most things I can get away with but dresses I always opt for the petite range if I can. So I picked up a couple of items from the petite section at Wallis and styled them to create the perfect desk to dinner looks.
First up we have this standout sequin dress, you all know how partial I am to a sequin! The black keeps it classy but you can still sparkle from head to toe! I teamed it firstly with a shirt – something I thought would look fab for the last day at the office before heading home for Christmas. Or if you’re straight out after work you can easily remove the shirt and throw on a faux fur to turn your look from semi-casual to major glam in seconds. If you don’t want to bare the legs simply add a pair of opaque tights to finish off the look.
Sequins are absolutely fabulous and I wish I could wear them all year round but somehow I feel that this much sparkle is only acceptable in the festive period. So with that said I definitely try and make the most of it. As the lights catch this dress you will be sparkling all night on the dance floor!
If you want a more sophisticated look why not opt for a jumpsuit. Jumpsuits are my go-to attire when the dress code is unclear and you’re not sure whether to go major glam or casual. A jumpsuit somehow fits all occasions which is why I probably have so many in my wardrobe. You can always add some thermal leggings underneath too if you’re anything like me and feel the cold!
I loved the sleeve detailing on this Wallis jumpsuit and it takes a plain black outfit and adds a bit of interest to it. Also I know a lot of mature women like to keep their arms covered so it’s perfect to feel comfortable but also flattering (keeps you warmer too).
I HOPE YOU CAN GRAB SOME INSPIRATION FROM THESE LOOKS AND AS ALWAYS I’VE PICKED MY FAVOURITES FROM THE SITE BELOW!
