I had never really thought about a London staycation before, living in the heart of London myself. However when Ruby Lucy London invited me to stay I jumped at the chance to escape normality.

Ruby Lucy is one of many Ruby Hotels scattered across Europe and the first of it’s kind in the United Kingdom – so I was very honoured to be one of the first people to experience what the hotel had to offer.

The Ruby Lucy experience seriously takes you on a journey as soon as you enter. Starting with the carnival-esque lobby equipped with swings and red velvet chairs – it’s a great place to chill with a laptop and coffee during the day and a cocktail in the evening. It was bustling with people already even though it had only been open a week.

Take a lift upstairs and you’re met by dark corridors aligned with doors. Opening the door to my room I was met by bright white light – the contrast was insanely good and a bit of an ethereal experience.

The location of the hotel is right next to Waterloo Station – one of the main connecting station in London. Ideal for anyone wanting to connect to Southern destinations like Brighton, Surrey or Gatwick Airport. If I was travelling to London for a weekend trip this would definitely be a great hotel and affordable for London prices too.

My pet hate in hotels is always the lighting! Whenever I stay somewhere I quite often express how the designer has not thought about putting on makeup. I’m quite often crouching down somewhere holding the tiniest hand held mirror to put on my face! Ruby Hotels has this covered with the most epic vanity area with full movie star lighting – my makeup was flawless!

Come with me this week as I explore the Ruby Hotel and the surrounding area! We found a fabulous nearby rooftop bar for wine and fries!!
